Best mid hero in Dota 2 for beginners 2022 are:Medusa, Lina, Templar Assassin, Riki, Zeus,… These hero are currently extremely strong. If you can pick, you'll have somewhat of a head-start in the game.

Top 5: Medusa

Pros

• Is greatly teamfight oriented.
• Has decent attack range.
• Great crowd control.
• Powerful in the late game.
• Effective against multiple opponents.

Cons

• Extremely item dependent.
• Slow movement speed.
• Fragile in the early game.

Tips and tricks

Early on, Medusa should just focus on farming and surviving.

In the late game, Mana Shield and Stone Gaze allows Medusa to withstand much more punishment than most carries.

Knowing how to farm well is the most important aspect of playing her. Medusa is arguably the hardest carry in the game, but also the most item dependent.

Medusa has one of the lowest base health in the game, making her quite vulnerable in the early game.

Enemy teams who cannot kill Medusa quickly enough will often lose the teamfight.

Because of this, a well farmed late game Medusa can often turn a losing match around.

Top 4: Lina

Pros

• Deals fairly high physical damage with passive.
• Long attack range.
• Strong AoE nukes.
• Very powerful single target nuke.

Cons

• No mobility.
• Slow attack animation.
• Slow cast animations.

Tips and tricks

Lina has one of the longest attack ranges in the game, but also the slowest attack animation.

Always cancel the backswing animation after casting your spells, as Lina suffers from long animation times.

In teamfights it can be very beneficial to quickly focus on low-HP or support heroes, as Lina has very good nuking abilities.

If Lina has the basic items she needs, it is wise to augment her physical attack for the sake of Fiery Soul.

Light Strike Array breaks trees in its AoE.

Laguna Blade has a stupidly short cooldown for how effective it is at level 6. Abuse it.

Top 3: Templar Assassin

Pros

• She is a versatile hero.
• Free harass against opponents.
• Highest damage at level 7 thanks to Refraction.
• Very fun and addicting.
• Can burst down an enemy support in 2 seconds.(not kidding).
• Can take damage from 6 sources unscathed.

Cons

• Dot destroys her. (damage over time).
• Very fun and addicting.
• Not the easiest hero.
• After nerf Bottle is core on her.

Tips and tricks

Templar Assassin is almost always played in the mid lane.

Templar Assassin requires an aggressive play style in order to be effective.

Templar Assassin reaches her damage peak at around level 11, earlier than most carries, through the use of Refraction and Meld.

Stack and farm ancient camps early on to get core items. Prioritize stacking over lane creeps if the supports are not helping.

Top 2: Riki

Pros

• Permanent invisibility.
• High base armor..
• Relatively mobile.
• High base health regeneration.
• Can use items without breaking invisibility.
• Smoke Screen is extremely useful against all opponents.
• High base damage. .

Cons

• Low health points.
• Low agility gain.
• Low mana.
• Limited waveclear potential with most item builds.
• Easily countered by wards and true sight.

Tips and tricks

Riki can snowball easily through just getting lots of kills even without farm.

Riki's Cloak and Dagger allows him to scout and place wards without revealing himself, making him a viable roamer or support hero.

Riki is an attribute-based carry, thanks to Cloak and Dagger's backstab damage.

Do not walk straight up to enemies and deep into enemy territory and expect never to die.

Top 1: Zeus

Zeus

Pros

• High magical damage output.
• Easy to play.
• Global abilities.
• Easy to snowball.
• Has two cheap and spammable spells.
• Ultimate has a global range and high damage.
• Strong at defending high ground.
• Has True Sight in two of his spells.

Cons

• Has only short stuns as disables.
• Demands mana.
• Countered by spell immunity.
• Low mobility.
• Ultimate's damage can easily be negated by going invisible.
• Easy to gank in the early game.
• Bad attack animation and attack range.
• Low damage to buildings.

Tips and tricks

Lightning Bolt has a ministun which allows you to cancel channels.

If an enemy you are chasing is about to escape your vision, cast Lightning Bolt on the ground right beside them rather than targeting their hero directly.

Zeus can dominate lanes, take easy kills, deal massive damage and give vision to your team for easy ganks. He is not very item-dependent but can benefit greatly from them.
